John McClain is an accomplished interior designer, business coach, speaker, author, and on-air contributor who has turned his lifetime passion for interior design into an opportunity to do the same for others. As a young man, John’s interest in creating beautiful spaces was sparked by his family’s talent in home building and renovations.
Soon, John began remodeling and redesigning home after home and combined a trade taught by his family with his natural aesthetic ability. Shortly after his career launch, John appeared on HGTV; and through this experience, his personality and design perspective were visible to a larger audience, and he was soon designing homes across the country. Next, John joined a prestigious interior design firm/furniture design company in Los Angeles, CA. Here, John gained an appreciation for the sophisticated west coast design style while collaborating on designs for many LA homes-including several celebrity clients. John also fueled his passion for custom furniture design-learning the ins and outs of quality craftsmanship and unique designs, eventually leading to his own home furnishings company, John McClain Home. John McClain Design is a well-crafted blend of John's past design experience, education, and innovative-forward thinking.

John McClain Design has offices in Central Florida and Los Angeles, CA. John’s projects have received numerous awards including HGTV Designer Of The Year and have appeared in many publications including Traditional Home and Elle Décor. John's design advice can also be seen regularly in print, television appearances, and online in The Wall Street Journal, Martha Stewart Living, Apartment Therapy, Interior Design, and as a regular contributor for Us Weekly, and many more. A highlight of John's career was designing the 2 official 50th anniversary chairs for Walt Disney World's Haunted Mansion. John was also honored to be a member of The Sherwin Williams Design Council, ASID National Business Advisory Board, and Design You Advisory Board.
A successful design project involves combining the client’s needs and wishes with John's natural instinct. Moreover, his belief that all environments can be both beautiful and attainable allows anyone to find their perfect surroundings. John now also shares his passion for interior design through speaking engagements, television appearances, articles, and events. John is also the proud author of the new coffee table book, The Designer Within, and his podcast of the same name, and is a business coach and online instructor for interior designers and other creatives with the Design Success Academy.
